Phase 2 Of MICT Berth 8 Project Commences

Prime BMD has successfully been awarded the second phase of the MICT Berth 8 expansion project, just as phase 1 (which commenced January 2023) reaches 50% completion. The project is part of International Container Terminal Services, Inc.’s (ICTSI) long-term plan to expand the Manila International Container Terminal (MICT). 

The Berth 8 Phase 2 project involves a design and build contract for a 300m Wharf and 5.5Has container yard. The additional scope of work includes dredging, reclamation, piling, deep soil mixing, dynamic compaction, capping beams, quay furniture and mooring dolphin for the 300m Wharf as well as reclamation, revetment works, ground improvement by PVDs and surcharge, pavement works, reefer racks, RTG tie-downs, high mast lights, drainage system, and electrical and fire protection for the container yard.

ICTSI is a valued client of Prime BMD, and we have worked with them previously on several projects, including the Cavite Gateway Terminal, MICT Berth 1-5 repairs, MICT Berth 7 expansion, and our ongoing dredging works for MICT.
