About the project

The Southern Yard extension involved reclaiming 33,000 sqm. of land and constructing a 150-meter-long wharf in Manila Bay to support the handling of an increasing volume of container van shipments.

Project scope

Dredging of bay up to 13.5m deep and disposal of dredged spoil material

Demolition, disposal, and replacement of existing mooring dolphin

Construction of a 150-metre-long wharf extension and bulkhead

Installation of all wharf furniture including crane rails, fenders, bollards, storm tie downs, stow pin locators

Partial removal of the rock revetment at the current seaside boundary of the container yard

Piling works

Construction and installation of storm drainage, electrical power and control, and fire system facilities

Extension of RTG beams

Construction of concrete pavement and markings
