About the project

As part of ICTSI’s long-term plan to expand Manila International Container Terminal’s operation and make it the largest and most modern container terminal in the Philippines, various projects planned for development and completion. 

Phase 1 is a design and build contract with major scopes that include the ground improvement of the 47,000 sq.m area, supply, and installation of 26 sets reefer racks/tower, erection of HML towers and other civil works.

Phase 2 involves an additional 300m of quay along 5.5 hectares of yard space needed to increase berthing capacity. When completed, the MICT will be the Philippines' largest international gateway and will be counted among the world's top terminals. It is expected to bring significant economic benefits to the country due to the added capacity for handling growing trade volumes.

Phase 1 scope

Design and ground improvement by dynamic compaction of the entire 47,000 sq.m yard including laying of geogrids, embankment and excavation works, subgrade preparation prior to concreting of lean mix pavement.

Design, supply and concreting of lean mix pavement including laying of paving blocks.

Design and construction of 2.6 km of RTG beams, liftable container plinths, light mast foundations, RTG tie downs, reefer racks foundations.

Design and construction of drainage, fire protection and electrical system

Design, supply and installation of reefer racks/towers and design and erection of high mast light towers.
